The Jerome Gambit spends a bishop, and often a knight, to drag Black's king into the open before White has developed the rest of the army. Learn the forcing checks that give the surprise its practical bite, then switch sides to practice the calm blocks, queen counterattacks, and consolidation moves that expose why the sacrifice is objectively unsound.
Study four White routes and four Black routes. The course covers the castled d4 fork, the 6...Ng6 queen-check sequence, the declined 4...Kf8 setup, the 6...Kf6 trap, Black's ...d5 consolidation, the practical ...g6 counterattack, the engine's ...Ke6 walk, and the simple ...Ng6 block.

Choose one of six verified starts and set the opponent from 600 to 2500. Ten exact-position coach rules recognize the sacrifice, declined branch, castled fork, knight block, dangerous king moves, g6 rook bait, and the moment Black's queen takes over the attack.
The six starts contain the seven-move Jerome base, all three book seeds for 5.O-O, 5.Nxe5+, and 4...Kf8, plus no-book positions after 6...Kf6 and 7...Qe7. Each target names a specific piece, pawn, square, or move deadline for both colors.
