An early queen asks two questions at once, but the answer is an order, not a panic move. You will defend e5, stop the f7 battery, develop with tempo, recognize when ...Qe7 changes the tactic, and decide whether the sharper Kiddie Countergambit is worth the pawn.
Follow eight guide routes: four from Black's side and four from White's. Master the ...Nc6 move order, the solid ...d6 setup, ...Qe7, the Kiddie Countergambit, both queen retreats, the f7 mate, and the rook trap after an early ...g6. Complete any line to save its progress locally.

Source position: all lines and legal moves come from the Wayward Queen Attack guide. Its five tests appear here with the guide's answers and evaluations: Nc6 (+0.35), dxe5 (-6.58), d3 (+5.62), Qxf7 (-4.43), and Qxe5+ (-0.08).
These 16 positions cover the safe defensive order, both solid alternatives, the countergambit, Scholar's Mate, queen retreats, c2 pressure, and a trapped rook. Every Learn route appears twice, and each alternative is legal in its exact setup.

Choose one of six Wayward Queen starts and set the bot from 600 to 2500. The coach recognizes the double attack, the f7 battery, all four defenses, the Qb3 trap, the h8 capture, and the failed queen invasion.
The six starts contain the three-move base, all four seeded book variations, and the Qxf7# set piece. Each assigns Black and White opposite, observable targets.
Three directions, each with a reason. Everything below links to a page that exists today.
